since moving to NHS from private i have had to change from amps and tablets to SF methadone. Since the first day i have had terrible stomach problems, the nearest way to describe it is osmotic diarrhea (3 weeks ago). I am on a lot 185mg, which makes me wonder if its related to the sortbitol. It only comes on about an hour or two after taking it first thing in the morning and abates at about 9pm in the evening.

its not only ebarrassing due to the load grumblings in my stomach and flatulance but also a pain in the ** due to watery diarrhea.

I thought it was a bug to start with, perhaps it is, i have asked for sugared version which i should be taking tomorrow.

Anyone heard of anyone getting this on high amounts of SF Methadone, before i call my surgery?

try some fybogel or ispaghula husk to balance out your in and out system...

sugar free diabetis linctus could help but then I aint a doc and only offering what worked for me and others

Do you need sugar free?,
equally people who are constipated can get what is termed as overflow. The hard stuff stays in your bowels and only the loose stuff passes and so pppl can think they have diarhoea. I would guess on this dose though it is likely to be the sorbitol.
Brush your teeth and take the stuff with the sugar in.

it was definitely the sorbitol. Changed to sugar version sat, havent had it since. 3 weeks of suffering - on the plus side, i lost a bit weight

strange thing is,is that i have had the SF years ago albeit a smaller amount and was fine. Definitely must be related to large amounts of Sorbitol.
