Waiting to start nurse prescribing course at Uni. Contacted other drug teams in adjoining counties to try and gather info. Lots of nurses have done the course, but none seem to be putting into practice. We will be the first from our service to attend. Want to be able to get protocols etc in place before we complete. Would like to talk with/ visit services that are up and running (don't want to re-invent the wheel)can anyone help?

You should have come to the substance misuse non med prescribing conference yesterday! I can email you my power point presentation from it if you like - I think the presentations will be available on here soon as well. Feel free to email me on Beverley.Harniman@gp-G85632.nhs.uk if you want. I had an article in Nursing Times -Feb. '06 which you are welcome to have a copy of.

You are most welcome to come and visit, it would be better if one person came at a time.
That depends though on if you want to come and sit in on consultations.
Maybe an overnight stay would give you both a day in clinic.
Up to you and you have my work e mail, just let me know
regards

Simon

Thanks. We will both be doing the course and will probably come up on the same day and would therefore divide the consultations if that would be ok. Is any particular day better?
