Just a query - does anybody have details of the BAMM ( as above ) I've tried websearches to no avail so far. Also has anybody been on its course - and how useful did they find them ? I'm told they can be good for clinicians moving into leadership roles. Any other leads to such training programmes would be useful too.
Thanks
Gill Redshaw

Intriguing...the full title of BAMM doesn't seem to come up for me.

What does the last M stand for:
British Association of Medical Maestros? Mothers?
Martyrs?
Muppets?
Eek

Thanks Simon - spot on. It looks interesting - but expensive ! Has anybody been on these courses or used the ( all inclusive ) tutor availability ? I think our PCT / DAT would like to know what value to expect ( and so would I )

Hi Gill - yes I've tried BAMM - was a little strange being the only GP surrounded by consultants, highly theoretical course, lots of management theory and politics, assignment was tough but very worthwhile in imporving my understanding.
I didn't sign up for the next module, as I then got onto the local deanery GP Leadership course - excellent, relvant, highly interactive and practical - worth checking out if its still running.
Both were very expensive, thanks to my PCT for supporting me!

Thanks Susi - I have checked these out - the Deanery course seems very popular, still running. Also found out about a course on personnel management with a very positive focus - bringing out the best in people , understanding personality & styles etc. creating win - win situations - run by a firm in Nottingham, sounds a bit like a shorter version of the above 2 courses ( obviously won't cover as much ) but was recommended by Lifeline Staff. Any other leads or comments would still be appreciated.
