I'm in the same position, no idea what it will be. Last year was very good but required formal dress. I don't know what to wear this year, black tie, dungarees, wet suit?

I have confirmed the evening arrangments with Jean-Claude. They are the following....

Evening Entertainment
Thursday 27th April

17.00 Drinks and Canapes at MICC venue following main conference.

19.30 Welcome drinks at Tiger Tiger Bar situated 10 mins walk from main venue. Themed bar with 2 bar social areas and a central dance, band stand area hired out for delegates.

20.00 Live Salsa Band, DJ and buffet dinner.
Salsa dancers providing show and class for those who want to give it a try. Plenty of seating and socialising areas in two separate bar areas.

Hope this helps

Mark

If you google me (Jim Jones) you eventually get my work site which has a photo (which says it is of me), this is just to make it fair, but still shallow.........

Well seeing as it's lunchtime and there's not much going on here i thought i would do just that. Now there seem to be quite a few Jim Joneses are you the 'failed monkey salesman' or the 'dead due to suicide, cult leader who had mental illness due to drug taking?'
Couldn't be bothered to go further than p6

Hi all
related to conference but sadly not salsa Heather.
Last friday was a pretty good day for me. Big Grin

Firstly, after many mails to and fro and so much begging Roll Eyesi was informed of my place at t'conference.
Then lter in the day i recd. a call informing me, subject to the usual, i was to be offered a p/time CMHW Post. EekP/time 18.75hrs p/w.
This may sound pretty mundane but for the few that know me and all of us that 'know' about long term Opiate Dep etc will realise and understand how i am feeling right about now.
Three yrs stable, no specific carrer exp. and recovering from 24yr opiate+Benzo Existence Big Grin.

Must admit i am overwhelmed a little with all the forms i recd this morning RE CRB etc etc.
On the whole great and really looking fwd to seeing you all in Manchester. Heather Reggae more my thing but Salsa is a great beat. Cool.

Best to all

Good to hear so many of you will be going to the conference, perhaps I can put some faces to the names now.

(I have managed to track down salsa kit, got the sombrero and cummerbund, just popping out now to the maracas shop)

Well, I'm home now.

Got to finally see Jim Jones in the flesh (my, what flesh).
Were you not there Simon Greasley?
That was one of my main reasons for going this year, to see what you looked like.

What a great conference it was.
Every year, better and better.

I put faces to 4 names from this forum but missed perseverance (I guess thats the advantage of nom de plume).

Susi,
No monkeys sold but I may have signed up a few for my re-launched cult, when I am not leading US forces in Europe or being a basketball and baseball star. Ain't Google wonderful?

Thanks to everyone who organised the conference, and the sunshine. I enjoyed myself, as I do each year. Just such a treat to meet so many like-minded souls, after the dank dark winter.
I think next year we'll have to wear special web-site hats, so that we can greet each other properly.

I was in group one in the Salsa (or was it Group A?)
Roll on next year!

I agree Judith. I too missed so many. Confused
Yet what a conference. I am sorry We didn't meet Judith and Susi but i was sat just to the right of you on Fri when you made a comment from the floor. I kind of tried to attract your attention but i think i was still in tears from Maureens speech+i didn't want e/one to see me. It took me back to my mum and the refusal of the tough love option. Which can have it's place but not with me+most long term PSU's.

Simon great to meet you and Heather Walker.

Dr Chris Ford was a treat.

Anyway i think you get the message how empowering to see young Drs particularly for me as i am involved with the traning? of Med Students here in Glos.

Love+Respect to yawl.
