A new version of this has been published on the NTA website - it looks good! Aimed at commissioners really but useful for SCMGs to know what the criteria for a good primary care treatment system are

As one of those people who this self audit tool is aimed at I think it is invaluable. "Commissioners" are the reps from police, probation, local authority and PCTs who sit on commissioning groups and make the decisions-the Joint Commissioning Managers, like myself, are the ones who do all the footwork, present things to them and hopefully get them to make the right decisions. Commissioners tend to know between not much and a little bit about treatment and so any tools such as this are extreemly useful for JCMs-and red/amber green boxes always go down well with them. This self audit, along with the harm reduction one, have to be submitted with the first draft of the strategic summary of the treatment plan in mid jan. This self audit gives an opportunity to raise the stakes for shared care locally. Our local SCMG meets next week and I am intending to give it the hard sell and convince the group to take some ownership of it-and it will also help to clearly identify some of the priority areas of work for next year. Does it identify all the criteria for a good shared care system as Susi says-or are there some things missing? Any thoughts before Monday afternoon would be really useful

Simon, do you (or anyone else) know the date of that SMMGP Shared care document? I can't find a date on it, or the document on the SMMGP site

Rob - its an NTA document which may be why you haven't found it here. I can't post a URL but follow these links: start at NTA site > work areas > treatment planning and needs assessment > adult treatment planning 2009/10, scroll down and its the last link under the second heading - the link you want starts with the words "Self Audit Tool to Support...."

Rob
The SMMGP document is from October 2005 and it's in the Shared care section of the library.

Cheers
