Hi all
I am currently writng a briefing on clinical governance and would very much like to incude an example of a clinical audit in substance misuse in which service users were involved in the audit design or at any other stage (eg producing recommendations from the findings) - It would be great if this came from primary care - anyone out there can help me with this?

In Birmingham we are at last getting going with excellent service user groups, and now have a different two user representatives on pretty well every committee i go to . (the service users went on a course about how to cope with committees, so understand all kinds of technical points about points of order and agenda. )

At the last SCMG they showed us an auditing questionnaire some of them were designing. I'll find some relevent email address and put them in touch with you.

It was realy refreshing to see that the NTA guide line ob service user involvment some poelpe do take note. has one of the many service user reps some time we kind that some of the service don't realy like serice user involvment at the best of times even if it going to inprove the service, Ive come across the use & them kinda poeple far to many times even now when we are all trying to work together to improve the serivices for are peers. I would be greatfull if you would jeep me in mind for any work you are doing with service user rep involvment I tried to contact you when you frist put the message up but was having trouble with the account. once again. thanks for tacking that step some try not to.cheers Tom Neville service user rep

I was recently speaking to a verry nice young girl who had jioned teaside DAAT at the NCIDU, on the subject of peer to peer research or research done by service users & she was saying the have a new member of staff starting who is wishing to do some of the kind of research.I have done some in the past wail at Prewick & also Told her of the Stuff that was realy good from Salford DAAT,which was presented at the April Brimingham conf, I was thinking has I have seen your possed many time if you had anything that may give them a idear of how to go about this. She emailed me on return but have not been able to get hold of the few we did.if you can help please contact me & I will pass on your detail or the other way around
